🧩 TRAY BOARD
HOW TO PLAY & TIPS
HOW TO START
- Choose Tray Board from the game modes.
- Select your number of pieces before you begin.
- Smaller puzzles, from 9 pieces, are quick and relaxed.
- Larger puzzles, up to 100 pieces, offer a more demanding challenge.
- Use Choose Picture to select a different image from the gallery.
HOW TO PLAY
- Look through the tray and choose a piece.
- Drag the piece from the tray to the board.
- Place it where you think it belongs.
- Correct placements lock into position and gradually build the image.
- Incorrect placement of pieces do not lock onto the board; they remain available in the tray.
- The tray may appear below the board or beside it depending on your screen size and orientation.
THE TRAY
- The tray keeps loose pieces organised and separate from the board.
- Portrait screens: the tray may appear below the board.
- Landscape screens: the tray may appear beside the board.
- If the tray contains more pieces than can be shown at once, scroll through it to view the rest.
GHOST IMAGE
- Use the Ghost toggle to show or hide a faint guide image on the board.
- The ghost image helps you judge where each piece belongs.
- Hide it when you want a cleaner, more challenging puzzle.
STATS
- Use the Stats toggle to show or hide your progress information.
- Stats may include time, best time, and placement progress depending on your device and mode.
- Hide stats when you want a calmer, more focused puzzle screen.
SAVE & PAUSE
- After you place your first piece, Save & Pause becomes available.
- Use Save & Pause when you want to stop and keep your current Tray Board position.
- Your saved game can be restored when you return to Tray Board.
- Use Resume Play to continue from where you left off.
RESHUFFLE TRAY
- Use Reshuffle Tray to rearrange the pieces in the tray.
- This can help when you feel stuck or want a fresh look at the available pieces.
FULL SCREEN
- Use Play Full Screen for a larger and more immersive puzzle area.
- Full Screen is especially helpful on mobile and tablet devices.
CHOOSE ANOTHER PICTURE
- Use Choose Picture to open the gallery and start a new puzzle with a different image.
- Starting a new picture begins a fresh Tray Board game and replaces the current Tray Board save.
DIFFICULTY / PIECES
- Use the PIECES control before starting to choose the size of the challenge.
- Smaller puzzles, from 9 pieces, are quick and relaxed.
- Larger puzzles, up to 100 pieces, offer a more demanding challenge.
TIPS FOR ENJOYABLE PLAY
- Begin with edge pieces, corners, strong colour areas, or distinctive image details.
- Use the tray as a visual search space: scan for colour, shape, texture, or continuation of lines.
- If you get stuck, reshuffle the tray or temporarily show the ghost image.
- Tray Board is ideal for a familiar jigsaw rhythm: search, choose, place, and slowly reveal the image.
- But beware: pieces without tongues and grooves can be surprisingly tricky to place.
- Enjoy your puzzle.
