🧩 SHUFFLE BOARD
FULL SCREEN & SCREEN FIT
Full Screen gives Shuffle Board the largest and clearest available play area.
It removes the normal Game Setup panel and, on supported phones, tablets, laptops and desktop browsers, hides the browser controls so the puzzle can use the available screen more fully.
The Shuffle Board, timer, moves and current puzzle state are retained when Full Screen begins.
ENTERING FULL SCREEN
Open Game Setup and select Play Full Screen.
Full Screen can be opened:
- before making the first move;
- while a game is in progress;
- while a saved game is paused; or
- after completing the puzzle.
When Full Screen opens:
- Game Setup closes;
- the Shuffle Board remains in its current state;
- the timer, moves and saved-game information are retained;
- the board is resized to fit the available screen;
- the fullscreen three-dot menu appears at the top-right.
THE THREE-DOT FULLSCREEN MENU
Select the three-dot button at the top-right to open the fullscreen controls.
The controls shown depend on the current state of the puzzle.
NEW IMAGE
Select New Image to open the picture gallery.Choosing another picture starts a fresh Shuffle Board game and replaces the current Shuffle Board save.
SAVE & PAUSE
After your first move, select Save & Pause to:
- save the current Shuffle Board position;
- stop the timer; and
- pause gameplay.
The puzzle remains visible in Full Screen.
RESUME PLAY
When the game is paused, Resume Play replaces Save & Pause.Select it to restart the timer and continue from the saved position.
RESTART GAME
After the puzzle has been completed, Restart Game becomes available.Select it to play the same picture and piece count again from a newly shuffled board.
EXIT FULL SCREEN
Select Exit Full Screen to return to normal browser play.The puzzle state, timer and moves are retained. The normal board-first view returns with the Game Setup button available at the top-right and the setup drawer closed.
SCREEN FIT
Shuffle Board automatically adjusts its size to the available screen.
The exact appearance depends on:
- the width and height of the screen;
- whether the device is in portrait or landscape orientation;
- whether browser controls are visible;
- the selected number of pieces; and
- whether Full Screen is active.
The game aims to keep the complete square board visible without requiring page scrolling.
PHONES AND TABLETS
On phones and tablets, try both portrait and landscape orientation.
Portrait
Portrait often provides the most reliable fit for Shuffle Board because the square board can use most of the screen width while leaving space for the statistics panel.
Landscape
Landscape may provide a larger board on wider devices, particularly in Full Screen.
On very shallow or narrow landscape screens, there may not be enough height to show the complete board safely. In normal browser play, AANANTO may display a Rotate screen to play advisory.
Rotate the device back to portrait to continue.
The advisory does not reset or alter the puzzle.
LAPTOPS AND DESKTOP SCREENS
Rotation is not required on laptops or desktop screens.
The board automatically uses the available browser or fullscreen area. Full Screen is still recommended when you want:
- the largest practical board;
- fewer visual distractions;
- more space around the puzzle; and
- a more immersive playing experience.
FULLSCREEN STATS
When Stats is enabled, the fullscreen statistics remain visible without covering the Shuffle Board.
Depending on the shape and size of the screen, the stats may appear:
- below the board;
- beside the board; or
- in a more compact presentation where space is limited.
The information remains the same:
- Time;
- Best Time;
- Moves; and
- Best Moves.
Turn Stats off in Game Setup before entering Full Screen when you prefer the cleanest possible play area.
CHANGING ORIENTATION DURING PLAY
You may rotate a phone or tablet while Shuffle Board is open.
The game retains:
- the current arrangement of pieces;
- the timer;
- the move count;
- the paused or running state; and
- the selected picture and piece count.
Full Screen normally remains active while the device is rotated.
Allow a moment for the board and statistics to reposition after changing orientation.
TIPS FOR THE BEST SCREEN FIT
- Use Play Full Screen for the largest available puzzle area.
- Try portrait first on narrow phones.
- Try landscape on wider phones and tablets.
- Follow the rotation advisory when it appears.
- Keep Stats visible when tracking progress matters.
- Hide Stats when maximum visual simplicity is preferred.
- Use the three-dot menu for all controls while playing in Full Screen.
- Exit Full Screen at any time without losing the current puzzle state.
